I am Selling My 1995 BMW 318ti

After 17 years of ownership, I have decided to part ways with my beloved 1995 BMW 318ti. My reasons for selling stem from the fact that I hardly drive it anymore, and it’s time for someone else to enjoy this classic vehicle. The car has always been kept in my garage, ensuring that both the paint and body remain in excellent condition.

Vehicle Overview

I bought this BMW in October 2008 in Santa Maria, California, with 121,000 miles on the odometer. Currently, it has 156,000 miles, averaging only about 2,000 miles per year. This low mileage is a testament to how well I have taken care of it.

Condition and Maintenance

Throughout my years of ownership, I have made sure that the car has never been in an accident. It’s a base model, meaning it has minimal options, which helps reduce the potential for issues that arise from complicated features. Here are some specifics:

  • 4-speed automatic transmission
  • No sunroof
  • No fog lamps
  • No sport rims, special graphics, or decals
  • No power seats, leather, or cruise control

This simplicity ensures fewer complications and repairs down the line. The only significant modification I made was replacing the original bumper with an M3 type bumper, which I believe enhances the car’s aesthetic appeal.

Interior and Fuel Efficiency

Inside, you will find the base model gray cloth interior, which remains in good condition. As a lightweight model, this BMW is quite fuel-efficient, offering an impressive 30 miles per gallon on the freeway when driven at speeds between 65 and 70 mph.

Engine and Performance

The car is equipped with the M42 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces 138 horsepower. While it may not be the quickest on takeoff or in quarter-mile races, the balance it offers allows for excellent cornering ability. This performance was the primary reason I chose it over my Mustang GT.

Documentation and Recent Work

Included in the purchase will be a CARFAX report and a smog certificate, indicating it passed the smog test on August 26, 2025. Additionally, I will provide a stack of maintenance and repair records for your peace of mind.

I am selling my 1995 BMW 318ti. I have owned it for 17 years and it’s time to sell it because I hardly drive it. I have always kept it in my garage, that’s the reason the paint and body are in good condition. Never been in an accident. I bought it in October 2008 in Santa Maria California, and it had 121,000 miles. It currently has 156,000 miles, so I averaged about 2000 miles per year. This is a base model BMW so it has no options other than the 4 speed automatic transmission. So there is no sunroof, no fog lamps, no sport rims, no special graphics nor decals, no power seats, no leather, no cruise control, that means less things that break and need repair. However, I did replace the original bumper with an M3 type bumper. I think it improved the look of the car. In the cabin it has the base model gray cloth interior. This is a lightweight base model BMW, and it gets me about 30 miles to the gallon on the freeway when I drive between 65 and 70 mph. The engine is the M42 1.8 liter DOHC 4 cylinder with 138 horsepower. No turbos, no variable cam timing, no variable valve lift, it’s an easy engine to maintain. I recently replaced the spark plugs, the head valve cover gasket, changed the oil, and passed SMOG test.

The car is not quick on take off nor quarter mile racing, but it can take high speed corners better than most cars because it has great front to rear balance. It’s the reason I sold my Mustang GT. A CARFAX Report and a SMOG certificate will be included with the purchase. It passed SMOG on August 26, 2025. I will also include a stack of maintenance and repair records. You’re getting a great deal with a lot of disclosed vehicle data.
