Overview of the 2000 BMW 740i
This is a 2-owner car, and I have maintenance records for the last 8 years of ownership. Priced fairly, it’s important to note that this offer is cash only, with no trades accepted. Low-ball or unusual offers will not be entertained.
The Good Aspects of the 2000 BMW 740i
- Strong Engine: The engine performs impressively, delivering great acceleration and the ability to cruise comfortably at high speeds for extended periods.
- Leak-Free: There are no gushing oil leaks, ensuring that you won’t face significant maintenance issues right away.
- Comfortable Ride: The ride is both comfortable and firm, with tight handling and no annoying rattles or noises, providing a peaceful driving experience.
- Solid and Safe: The car feels solid and offers a “built-like-a-tank” sensation, ensuring a sense of safety while on the road.
- Attractive Appearance: This is a very pretty car. The body is in excellent shape, complemented by a beautiful color that often catches the eye of passerby who frequently comment on its look.
- Decent Interior: The interior is in decent condition with no stains or tears on the seats, providing a pleasant environment for both driver and passengers.
- 25-Year Rule: Thanks to the 25-year rule, as long as you own this beauty, you won’t need to worry about smog checks.
The Not-So-Good Aspects of the 2000 BMW 740i
- B-Pillar Cover: The driver side B-pillar cover is torn; however, being a driver, you won’t see it.
- Plastic Door Threshold: The threshold is broken and comes loose, but it has been moved to the trunk for safety.
- Cracked Bumper Plastic: There’s a crack in the black plastic on the front bumper next to the license plate.
- Fog Light Issue: One of the fog lights is non-functional. A minor repair might be needed here.
- Power Steering Sweat: While there are no major oil leaks, the power steering system has a slight sweat that requires attention.
- Infotainment System: The infotainment system is partially frozen. While it can play CDs and the radio functions well, there is a cassette stuck in the stereo (fortunately, it’s classical piano music), and settings for sound, time, and navigation are outdated and not functional.
- Tire Replacement Needed: New tires will be required soon, which is an important consideration for any potential buyer.
