My stepdad passed away early this year and the time has come to post some of his cars for sale.

He was a Swiss master craftsman and this M3 was his pride and joy.

He purchased it in 2013 and would take it out on his weekly Sunday cruise. The M3 always had a dedicated parking spot in the garage with matching Dinan and BMW  banners.

This car was never driven in anger or pushed hard, my stepdad enjoyed cruising along with the top down, he wasn’t the type to disrespect his car by abusing it in any way.

After buying the car from a coworker in San Francisco (who owned it since new) he added a few touches to make it his own. The Dinan exhaust is probably my personal favorite it sounds so good paired with the inline 6 engine. No obnoxious drones or raspy sounds just a touch louder at idle and around 4,500rpm you can really hear it sing.

He was a huge music afficionado and when having the audio system upgraded, he spent over $5,000 to make the system perform at any speed and even with the top down. Cartunes in Santa Rosa put together an audio system that is an absolute overkill in every way. They started by installing upgraded insulation throughout the cabin. They replaced every speaker in the car with Focal custom units and used adapters where necessary. All the speaker wires were upgraded to match the new system. They installed a 900W Alpine Amplifier in the trunk along with a Audison digital signal processor and 3-way Focal Sound Processors for the door speakers. The head unit was custom ordered by another Audio installer in Santa Rosa to add Apple Car Play.

The car was religiously maintained at Hansel BMW in Santa Rosa and Edge Motorworks in Mountainview by its previous owner.

The car comes with a dedicated folder to all the work that has been done and had the subframe mounts inspected in 2019 and in 2022 and no damage was present either time.

The Rod bearings have not been replaced but were inspected in 2017 (10k miles ago) and were well within spec. 

The car has only ever received 10W60 Castrol Full Synthetic Oil on the dot every 6 months.

The last oil change has just been completed on 8/29/2025.

The tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport at 85% in front and 75% in the back.

The car is 19 years old and has a scuff or two. I noticed that there is a minor scuff/dent under the right (passenger) taillight. There are also some paint scuffs on the bottom of the front bumper.

On the inside everything is pristine. The seats are in incredible shape as the car had custom fitted car covers that have been on the car for the last 12 years and we just had professionally removed prior to listing the car for sale. That being said the driver’s seat has some very light surface scuffing on the bolster closest to the driver’s door. The arms rests driver and passenger show some use as well but again for a 19-year-old car they are in amazing shape. I just want to make sure that I am being completely transparent. The rear seats are like new, my step dad removed the back seat ski/arm rest and we don’t know where it is. I found a new looking one on eBay for $45.

Lastly there are three keys and a remote to power the radio head unit, for the life of us we cannot figure out how to power it on. Maybe you will be able to figure it out but we can hear the amp come on and the DSP works perfect as well we just can’t get the head unit to power on no matter what we do.

We have the clean and clear Title in my Mom’s and stepdad’s name.

We have the Oregon Bill of Sale completed as well.

We have the Vehicle History Report (only in a printed out version)

We have all 3 car keys

We have submitted an application to Bring a Trailer.com and the M3 will be listed there at the end of the month if it hasn’t sold here by then. We already have an offer from a local buyer/acquaintance for $18,000 (he’s working on getting more cash together) that we rejected for now. These cars are so hard to find especially as Manuals and mature owned and well maintained. The upgrades on the car are also highly desirable and worth more now as these cars get rarer and rarer. On Bring a Trailer this car will sell for 21k-23k so please don’t bother trying to lowball or tire-kick us. We are not in the least bit desperate for money at this point it is a matter of pride and we won’t budge on the price.
