I’m selling my 2006 LBZ duramax 4×4 with an Allison 6-speed. This was my daily driver but it recently blew a head gasket so I’m getting a more reasonable family car. I did not seriously overheat and seize this engine, it still starts and drives. There is NO coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant! I pulled over immediately and got a tow home when it started heating up. This is a great year truck. It’s pre-emissions, so no DEF system, but post 1st gen so it doesn’t have all the problems of the early Duramax engines. This truck has an almost 400K miles but I’ve put a ton of work into it to keep it safe and road worthy. Here’s a list of what I’ve done over the last 60K miles:

New rotors, calipers, pads
Rear axle seals
Transmission lines
Brake and PS lines
PS pump
Hydroboost pump
Brake booster
6 bolt PSC steering gearbox
Tie rod ends
Idler arm
Bushings
Tires
Coolant lines
Shocks
Sounds dampening material
Water pump
Serpentine belt
Alternator

The tires are brand new and cost me $1000. They have probably less than 500 miles on them. I’m selling the camper shell separately for $1000 dollars, so it’s $5000 for truck + camper shell.

I have loved this truck but it’s just not practical for my lifestyle anymore. Serious buyers only please. Even though it runs and drives i would recommend towing.
