2006 Honda Element Front Wheel Drive Automatic: A Reliable Daily Driver
Are you looking for an affordable and reliable daily driver? The 2006 Honda Element could be the perfect option for you! With a proven track record of functionality and longevity, the Honda Element remains a popular choice among car buyers. Let’s dive into what makes this vehicle stand out, along with some of its current conditions and potential fixes.
Vehicle Highlights
This 2006 Honda Element is being offered for $6000 OBO (or best offer). Here are some key highlights of this vehicle:
- Well-maintained over the years with regular oil changes every three months.
- Includes remote key lock/unlock, alarm system, and an aftermarket backup camera.
- Comes with blackish seat covers, a spare tire, and a jack.
- Features a Bluetooth audio connector for modern music streaming.
Current Condition and Notable Fixes
Despite being in good condition, there are a few items worth addressing, though they don’t impact the vehicle’s overall driveability:
- The tail end of the muffler has rusted off. It doesn’t create any extra noise but will need a welder for repairs.
- Aftermarket catalytic converter installed. It’s a bit squeaky but primarily requires a new converter seal.
- The lower trunk panel tabs have broken off, currently held with straps; replacing this is easy with parts available at a local scrap yard.
Potential Error Codes
The Honda Element may present occasional error codes during operation. Potentially, you can drive the vehicle for around 400km before one of the following codes manifests:
- Code P0139: Typically associated with the oxygen sensor circuit.
- Code P0497: Often related to the evaporative emission system.
The appearance of these codes may occur when hitting a speed bump, but they are primarily associated with the cat converter seal, which is an easy fix.
Unique Features
This vehicle features a sunroof that was installed by the previous owner, providing an extra touch of comfort and openness. The interior has been cleaned, the hoses checked, and silicone sealed to ensure no leaks occur. It’s worth noting that while the title indicates there’s no sunroof, it was an enhancement that adds value to the driving experience.

This Honda Element boasts a maintained service history reflecting extensive care. Below is what has been replaced in the recent past:
- Tires

- Rotors
- Catalytic converter
