1969 Chevrolet Belair with 327 Power Glide – A Timeless Classic
Introduction
The 1969 Chevrolet Belair is a remarkable classic car that evokes nostalgia among car enthusiasts. With its sturdy build and iconic design, the Belair stands out as a great option for anyone looking to own a piece of automotive history. This article will explore the features, history, and benefits of owning a 1969 Chevrolet Belair, specifically one equipped with the 327 Power Glide engine.
About the Vehicle
As the third owner of this classic car, I have a rich history to share. This particular 1969 Chevrolet Belair comes with comprehensive service records dating back to the 1980s, ensuring that every repair and maintenance step has been documented. The engine was thoughtfully rebuilt in the late 90s, and since then, it has seen only minimal use, making it a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Condition and Upgrades
The car features an older restoration with paint, body, and interior that look fantastic, though they are not without flaws. It’s this character that adds to the charm of owning a classic vehicle. This summer, I took the Belair to the Penticton Peach City Cruise, where it performed beautifully on the trip from Duncan and back, showcasing its reliability on the road.
Modern Updates
In an era where classic cars are often left untouched, this 1969 Chevrolet Belair has received a few modern updates to enhance its performance:
- Electronic ignition for improved starting and efficiency.
- Internally regulated alternator for better electrical performance.
- 4-barrel carburetor and intake for increased power and responsiveness.
- True dual exhaust for a more powerful sound and boost in performance.
Recent Maintenance
In my ownership, I’ve committed to keeping this classic in top shape with a range of maintenance tasks:
- New gas tank and fuel sender unit (fuel gauge now works!)
- New fuel pump and filters to ensure optimal fuel delivery.
- Replaced upper radiator hose, master cylinder, both front flex hoses, and alternator belt.
- Last oil change completed approximately 2,000 miles ago using high-quality hot rod oil with zinc for optimal engine protection.
- Replaced valve cover gaskets and updated transmission fluid.
- New U-joint installed for improved drivability.
Potential Issues
While the car is in excellent condition, I want to be transparent about a couple of minor issues:
- The odometer works sporadically, though the speedometer functions perfectly.
- New rubber door seals would enhance the overall integrity of the interior.
Location and Contact
This 1969 Chevrolet Belair is located in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island. Serious inquiries are welcome, and in-person offers will be considered, as I prefer to engage with potential buyers directly.

Duncan
327 power glide
I’m the 3rd owner and have service records from 1980’s until around 2010. The 327 was rebuilt in the late 90s (have receipt) and it’s been hardly driven since. Older restoration, paint, body and interior look great, but are not perfect! I have taken the car to a few shows for fun including Penticton peach city cruise this June, made the trip no problems from Duncan and back. Get in and ready to go. A few modern updates have been done, electronic ignition, internally regulated alternator, 4 bbl carb & intake, a nice true dual exhaust. In my ownership new: gas tank, fuel sender, (gauge works now) fuel pump + filters, upper rad hose, master cylinder, both front flex hoses, alt belt, oil change approx 2,000 miles ago (w/ zinc
hotrod oil) valve cover gaskets, trans fluid, new u joint. Issues im aware of: odometer sporadically works (speedometer fine) could use new rubber door seals. Offers in person or will be ignored. located on Vancouver island in Millbay
