The Time Has Come: Selling My Beloved 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe

It’s not every day that a rare gem like the 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si coupe comes along, and now the time has come for me to part ways with my incredible ride. Among enthusiasts and collectors alike, this particular model is recognized and cherished, and for good reason. Adorned in stunning black sapphire metallic and equipped with a powerful N52B30 inline 6 engine, this car isn’t just a mode of transport—it’s an experience.

Why This BMW Z4 is a Unique Opportunity

Let’s talk rarity. The E86 Z4 coupe was never officially sold in Canada except for the M variant. The model produced from 2006 to 2008 was available in the U.S. market, making this JDM import special. Owning this particular model means stepping into the driver’s seat of a car that is uniquely appealing and difficult to find on Canadian roads.

Modern Power in a Classic Design

Under the hood, the BMW Z4 3.0si is powered by the nearly indestructible N52B30 engine—a magnesium and aluminum powerhouse that combines lightweight performance with smooth operation. With 265 horsepower at your disposal, you’re not just driving; you’re soaring on the open road. My experiences range from picturesque highway jaunts in California, where I earned an impressive 36 highway mpg, to spirited drives on winding roads, all thanks to the efficient ZF 6-speed automatic transmission, which also allows for paddle shifting.

Condition and Maintenance

This vehicle has recently undergone a full paint correction and ceramic coating, ensuring it gleams on the road. It’s never sustained any accidents and has been meticulously maintained by an owner who takes pride in caring for their vehicle. Presenting a record of the full history since arriving in Canada, it boasts 113,000 km driven and, as expected with such mileage, it delivers a flawless driving experience. From heated seats to a premium sound system, this BMW does not skimp on comfort or technology.

Why Invest in a Classic Like the BMW Z4?

With its combination of rarity and performance, the BMW Z4 3.0si is increasingly seen as a future collectible. It’s not just about owning a car; it’s about investing in a piece of automotive history that stands out in a sea of sameness. For those who appreciate the thrill of driving, this coupe offers a thrilling experience, all while being practical enough to fit a bike in its spacious hatch when needed.

Vancouver

The time has come for me to sell my incredibly beloved (and obviously very rare!) 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si coupe. I believe this is the only JDM E86 Z4 coupe being sold in Canada right now.

** the car has just received a full paint correction and ceramic coating **

If you’re familiar with this series of cars (E86 coupe) you know that these were never officially sold in Canada, other than the M variant. For whatever reason, the coupe from 2006 to 2008 was sold in the US, but never here! Any you see up here will be imported, which this one is – from Japan! Yes, it is the full fat/max hp, right hand drive version, so if that scares you, I wish you luck in your search!

Powered by the near bulletproof N52B30 inline 6 cylinder, this is a magnesium/aluminum blocked engine that’s very lightweight and extremely smooth, producing 265 horsepower (in JDM/Euro form) This is the most powerful naturally aspirated 6 cylinder BMW made other than the M series cars. Matched to a very efficient/overbuilt ZF 6 Speed automatic steptronic transmission with paddle shifting. The car is deceptively quick and yet still very fuel efficient. I managed 36 highway mpg on a California road trip (with pics to confirm)

The car is finished in a beautiful black sapphire metallic with matching black leather interior with the aluminum inlays. Nicely equipped with sport package and premium sound. Heated seats, electronic folding mirrors, stability control, etc…. the car has never sustained any accidents. Mechanically it is bone stock and extremely well maintained by an adult (55) OCD owner. The only mods are a mild five window tint and very nice oem BMW style 441M rims wrapped in Michelin Pilots. Full records since landing in Canada are available, as well, I can give you the full history of the car since my ownership 20 months ago.

She currently has 113000 km. As you would expect with that kind of mileage, it drives flawlessly and is an absolute pleasure to drive. If you’ve ever had a BMW with the inline 6 you can appreciate just how sublime these engines really were. More than enough power to have fun. Just a gem of a powerplant.

As you likely know, these cars are beyond rare, even in countries that offered them for sale. In Canada you’ll be hard-pressed to run across another one for months on end. In the time I’ve had one, I’ve seen exactly one in the Vancouver area, and it was a Z4M coupe. These are said to be a future collectible and it certainly is plausible, if not guaranteed. There’s really not much like them, and with the large 10.1 cubic foot hatch, believe it or not you can actually stuff a bike in there! Ask me how I know.

As mentioned, I’ll be happy to discuss with you my time with the car and the history of it. If you are seriously looking for one of these you will not be disappointed. It honestly pains me to imagine not having this here, but I’m one of those weird car nuts that just kind of gets the itch for something new after a while. I don’t even know what I’ll get that will replace this and give me as big a thrill, but I know this is going to be a very, very hard car to top.

I’m certainly not in any rush to sell it, but I’m happy to show the car anytime. I live in South Vancouver. I am selling the car for $19000.

And obviously it shouldn’t need to be said, but serious buyers only please. And please be comfortable driving a right hand drive car. You do get used to it pretty quickly and it will make you a better driver!

If you are seriously looking for this car you will not be disappointed.
