Market Value and Pricing

The offer is fair and the seller desires serious inquiries, avoiding lowball offers. The price reflects the quality and features of the car, providing great value for any buyer.

A Unique Offering

The 2017 Golf Alltrack is a model that did not stay long in the U.S. market, making it a relatively rare find. It offers an alternative to more commonly chosen SUVs like the Subaru Outback, and offers several advantages:

  • Trunk Space: Comparable to larger SUVs like the BMW X3, providing ample space for gear.
  • Fuel Efficiency: Excellent long-term average of 26.8 mpg, making it economical for daily use.
  • Sporty Driving Experience: With updates, including APR software, it drives similarly to a GTI, ensuring fun on the road.

Despite its performance capabilities, this car has not been abused in any racing capacity. The enhancements simply serve to improve the driving dynamics for everyday use.

Transparency in Ownership

The car has a buyback title, meaning it was bought back from the original owner by Volkswagen due to a sunroof issue that has since been resolved. Volkswagen undertook all necessary repairs, making the car “like new” again, and the current owner is transparent about the vehicle’s history to ensure potential buyers feel confident in their purchase. They offer full documentation of repairs, showcasing responsible care for the vehicle.

Mission Hills

Sporty and nimble AWD wagon.
Outstanding condition.
Needs absolutely nothing.
German owner (I take good care of my stuff!).
Title in hand and in my name (*).

Top of the line SEL trim plus driver assistance (adaptive cruise) and self-parking packages
Tires still good for 10,000 miles easily.
Some carefully selected enhancements:
– LED headlights
– sway bars
– APR ECU & TCU upgrade for smoother driving and better gas mileage
– wireless Apple carplay

Also throwing in some all weather floor mats and a roof rack.

My price is the current value of this exact car for a private party sale on edmunds, com, plus $1000 for the enhancements (they cost me about $2,500). The price is fair and firm. Don’t bother with lowball BS, I will just block you and not respond.

Will only sell to a buyer who can show up in person and who can pay me cash or cashiers check obtained in my presence at a bank branch. NO exceptions.

TLDR;
This car isn’t widely known in the US; it’s the equivalent of a Subaru Outback but imo better. They sold it here from 2017 through 2019; typical US buyers like small SUVs better so it didn’t last in the market. Beats me why: the trunk space is like a BMW X3, the gas mileage excellent (26.8 long term average), and the car is more nimble and quicker than a taller SUV. With the upgrades I made it almost drives like a GTI.

Please don’t read the sway bar and APR software as, “uh this guy has raced this car”. I haven’t. I am in my mid 50s and simply appreciate the better handling and smoother drivetrain. I will transfer the software license to you so you can reprogram the car back to stock if you like. It is legal in CA and passes smog as is.

(*) The car has a buyback title, meaning Volkswagen of America bought it back from the original owner at around 20,000 miles. There was an issue with the sunroof; it leaked. I have the VW paperwork that shows the details and that it was repaired. They also took care of any outstanding maintenance, put new tires, new brake pads and a new battery on the car, and then sold it again with a 12 month bumper to bumper manufacturer warranty. That’s how I bought it. Never had any problems with anything (including the sunroof). My understanding is that the buyback title does not reduce the value because VW – the manufacturer – made the car “like new” again. I am just sharing this for full disclosure. I bought the car at a price that’s equivalent to that of a “clean” title car, and am selling it as such.

I had one small “accident” that’ll probably show on carfax if you pull that. I pulled out of my garage as the door was closing. Sheared the shark fin antenna right off and scratched the roof. Repaired and repainted at a professional body shop; paid for by my insurance. The damage to my ego was bigger than to the car… lol.
