88′ Ram D50 / Mitsubishi Mighty Max – Complete Project!

Are you looking for an exciting project vehicle that embodies reliability and performance? Look no further! This 1988 Ram D50, also known as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max, offers enthusiasts a fantastic opportunity to dive into a restoration project. This versatile truck is perfect for off-road adventures and everyday utility, making it a prime candidate for your next automotive endeavor.

Project Overview

The goal of this project is not just to sell a truck, but to offer an entire package that comes with an array of parts and equipment necessary for a successful restoration. Below are the details of what’s included:

Vehicle and Key Features

  • Model: 88′ Ram D50 (Same as Mitsubishi Mighty Max)
  • Engine: 2.6 Inline 4 cylinder
  • Drive Type: 4×4
  • Transmission: Manual

Included Parts and Equipment

  • New rebuilt motor, fully assembled, ready for installation
  • Old motor (requires some repairs)
  • 2 Engine stands, used once for this project
  • Engine hoist and load-leveler, both used once
  • 2 4WD transmissions – contains parts for one good functional unit
  • 2 transfer cases – at least one in working condition
  • Transmission jack and wood carts, both utilized once
  • New Weber Carb (the ideal carburetor for small trucks)
  • New starter and LUX clutch (still in the box)
  • New radiator, hoses, belts, motor mounts, and trans mount
  • Recoated frame with POR15 all around for superior protection
  • New exterior/interior components sourced from a donor truck
  • 4 repair manuals for guidance throughout your restoration
  • Complete bolt, screws, and parts inventory (most labeled)
  • Clean Nevada title

Investment Value

The total value of the parts and tools included in this project exceeds $3,500. If you decide to sell off excess parts after finishing your project, you could recoup a significant amount—potentially $500-$750 just from the engine and trans jacks. This makes this offer not just an investment in a vehicle, but also an opportunity to build value through resale of parts.

$4,500

Las Vegas, NV

NOTE: I’m not parting this out. Selling everything together. Please don’t ask.

-88′ Ram D50
-Same truck as a Mitsubishi Mighty Max
-2.6 Inline 4 cylinder
-4×4
-Manual transmission

Selling everything as a complete project that comes with the following:

-New rebuilt motor. Rebuilt by machine shop in St. George, Utah. Fully assembled and ready to put in.
-Old motor (Bad head gasket, and clogged cooling ports)
-2 Engine stands (Used only once. Bought for this project.)
-Engine hoist (Used only once. Bought for this project.)
-Engine hoist load-leveler (Used only once. Bought for this project.)
-2 4wd transmissions (One trans sticks in 2nd and 3rd gear. Unsure on condition of the other one. My thought was that I had enough parts between the two to at least make one good one.)
-2 transfer cases. At least one works as it should. Unsure of condition on other.
-2 transmission wood carts included
-Transmission jack included (Used only once. Bought for this project.)
-New Weber Carb. Brand new in box. (This is THE carb to use on smaller trucks. Look it up.)
-Old carb (Works, just dirty)
-New starter (Old starter still works)
-New LUX clutch. Still in box. (Still have old clutch)
-New, resurfaced flywheel
-Original/old flywheel (Still good, but needs resurfaced)
-New radiator
-New hoses and belts
-New motor mounts and trans mount
-Recoated frame up front with POR15. Everything recoated and looks awesome.
-Cleaned under truck. Surface rust only. Could leave as is or finish with POR15 re-coat.
-Cleaned and touched up surface rust inside of engine bay
-New exterior/interior components taken from donor unit in scrap yard – 2 new fenders, 2 new complete door units, new hood, new tailgate, new interior pieces, seat, roof liner, sun visors, plastics, new odometer, seatbelts… Pretty much pulled everything out of donor truck besides bed and dash
-Most of dash is dirty, but in good condition. Dash pad is cracked. It can be removed and repaired or replaced, or, you can get a dash cover.
-Bed is rough. I was going to remove it and make it a flatbed.
-4 repair manuals
-Cool old sales brochure I got off of eBay
-All bolts, screws, parts there. Most labeled in zip lock bags.
-Clean Nevada title in my name

There is over $3,500 worth of parts and tools alone. You could sell the engine and trans jacks when you’re done and recoup at least $500-$750. Could sell old parts you no longer need too for good cash. Heck, you could probably piece all of this out online and kill it. I just don’t have the time or the space anymore.

Put it all together, decide what you want to do for paint and wheels, and boom – cool little 4×4 ready to go.

These trucks are little billy goats in the dirt. Super fun, and crazy reliable. The inline 4 cylinder in these was unstoppable.

I need my garage space back. My Dad is unexpectedly moving out of state, and I did all of my work over in his big garage. With him moving, I have no space unless I get rid of this project. I have two years into this and I hate to sell it, but I need the space back.

$4,500 takes everything

You will need a winch, some type of trailer and room to get all the parts out of the garage

I’m also selling a Yamaha Rhino and some other stuff. Click on “more ads by user” to see them.
