1968 Ford Ranchero
The 1968 Ford Ranchero is a classic vehicle that blends muscle car performance with the practicality of a pickup truck. This particular model not only runs and drives perfectly but is also equipped with a range of exciting features that make it stand out in the world of classic cars.
Performance Features
The heart of this Ranchero is its Big Block 390 FE V8, which was rebuilt in 2018 and has roughly 30,000 miles on it since the rebuild. With an Edelbrock Performer RPM mild street cam, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and a Holley Pro Series 4150 carburetor, this engine is designed to deliver thrilling performance. Other notable features include:
- Complete MSD ignition for reliable starting and smooth running.
- Moroso Racing oil pan and pick up to ensure optimal oil flow.
- Ceramic coated tri-y headers enhance engine efficiency.
- Aluminum radiator for superior cooling performance.
Transmission and Drivetrain
This Ranchero is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, featuring a top loader style for smooth gear changes. A new clutch installed in 2021, coupled with a Hurst shifter, allows for precise shifting and an engaging driving experience. The drivetrain includes:
- Ford 9 inch rear end with Posi traction for improved traction and acceleration.
- New axle shafts and bearings to ensure reliability.
- New Strange driveshaft for enhanced performance.
Braking System
Safety and performance are paramount, which is why this Ranchero features a Wilwood 4 piston big brake kit installed in 2021. The rear drum brakes have also been completely rebuilt at the same time, ensuring that this car stops as well as it goes. Additional upgrades include:
- New vacuum booster to improve brake response.
- Stainless steel brake lines for durability and better performance.
Interior Features
The interior of the 1968 Ford Ranchero is as impressive as its performance. It boasts a Bluetooth Custom Autosound Stereo system complemented by 4 new speakers and an amplifier. Additionally, the cabin has been upgraded with:
- New pro car bucket seats that provide comfort and style.
- Custom floor mats for a unique touch.
Additional Features
This model is also a factory A/C car, which is a great convenience during the warmer months. While it is missing the under-hood components, all the original controls and under-dash components remain intact. These components have been checked and tested in 2023, confirming their condition for potential A/C reinstallation.

This car runs and drives like a dream. Hauls ass and stops on a dime. I’m very sad to get rid of it. I just want it to go to a good home.
It is also a factory A/C car. It is missing the under hood components, but still has all the original controls, and under dash components. I had the under dash components inspected and tested in 2023 because I planned to put A/C back in. Everything checked out good, and I just never pulled the trigger.
Salvage title due to theft from long before my ownership. Did some research, car was stolen in 1996. Reported and declared a total loss due to the theft.
