2002 Pontiac Sunfire
Low list price due to high milage,
But kept maintained with annual safety inspections for over 7 years, lots has been upgraded in this time that I owned it.
Starts every time; stops just fine; everything you need to go from A to B still works – see below for list of minor deficiencies.
Parts still easy and relatively cheap to get for this model/year.
Recently replaced:
– Front-rack (steering gear assembly) (3 years ago)
– CV joint (lats year)
– Rear shocks (approx 5 yrs ago)
– Drive belt (16 months ago)
– Front Brakes – 2 years ago
– Rear brakes – 4+ years ago
– valve cover (5+ years ago)
– oil change – February /24
and more – have all maintenance receipts if you want them
– Tires all still have +6 mm tread on them, good shape
– Interior is smoke-free owners (myself and owner before me no smoke), no mold, no leaks from windows
– Fan / Heating work just fine, interior seats have no tears or heavy staining. Seatbelts (5) all good. Rear defrost works as of last winter when I was using it. Lights all checked ‘good’ as of last safety inspection Feb. of this year.
– Overall this car still has some life left in it, as long as you do not drive aggressively .
**Deficiencies**:
– The vehicle is over 20 years old and does have high mileage, I’m pricing low for for that reason and have listed it as “fair”. Just because cars of this age can have unexpected failures, though this one today is drive-worthy and has no outstanding issues from latest safety check.
-Paint is thinning to poor, but no rust yet
-There is tree gum (sappy) on it – because my assigned parking is under a fir tree). I have a cleaner that gets rid of it I will give you some, and will show you when you come that it does remove the gum spots. Its readly avail. from Home Depot.
– Dashboard-electronics: Odometer doesn’t work, and radio lighting doesn’t work. Radio & stereo work just fine, you just can’t see what station you are on or what time it is. I have a quote for fixing this, it would need a new dashboard harness, cost is about $800. For me, I didn’t care so much about those 2 things (odometer + radio lighting) so I didn’t do that repair.
– Minor dampness inside trunk.
– The mileage quoted is based on previous owner’s estimate at time of purchase of high 300K’s, (the odometer was already out at that time), plus my estimated milage since then to put it near top of 300k’s or perhaps just over 400k. My driving with it has been light, as I work from home, groceries/errands/short drives for fun mostly, not much for added mileage.
– Am selling ‘as-is’ – I don’t have time to detail the vehicle for you,
And for simple vacuuming/dusting I also wouldn’t have time for that ’til this weekend. So its as you can see in the pictures, some dust and floor debris is still there. I assumed $2200 is a good going rate for this car based on what I can see in Craigs, and took off $200 for the detailing issue,
If you want me to have it detailed for you, add $200 to the price then I will take it in to a shop for that. Else “as-is”.
