1998 Toyota Hiace Regius 4WD for $0 Build Credit, Poor Credit, Bad Credit, Good Credit OK OAC

FOR SALE – 1998 Hiace Regius 4WD
Hello! I am selling my 4th generation HiAce Regius which I imported last summer. With full-time 4WD and brand-new BF Goodrich All Terrain tires, this van makes for a perfect camping vehicle. Although I’ve loved having this little van, it hasn’t been put to use in the city, so I’ve decided to sell it.
I could go on and on about this wonderful car, but honestly, if you’re looking at Hiaces, you probably already know their charm and utility. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
The Good
- Toyota 22RE 2.4L engine: This engine is known for its reliability, with the potential to last 300,000+ miles, and delivers great gas mileage of around 20 mpg.
- Full-time 4WD: The van is narrow and compact, making it perfect for tackling forest service roads.
- Mechanically perfect condition: All necessary work was conducted at CTL Motors in Tacoma during the import process.
- Brand new tan paint job: Professionally done in Japan, giving it a fresh and appealing look.
- Minimal surface rust: The van was graded 4 in the Japanese auction, indicating a well-maintained vehicle.
- New radiator and turn signals: Ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Double 180-degree rotating captain’s chairs: Offers flexibility and comfort for passengers.
- Ready for customization: The interior is stripped, allowing you to turn it into a camper or use it for hauling furniture.
- Clean title: Registered in Colorado, one of the only Hiaces on the market that you can pick up and legally drive today!
- Size: Significantly smaller than most vans, making it easy to navigate in tight spaces.
- Comes with import documents: No extra hassle for you.
- Safety features: Equipped with airbags, one of the first Hiaces to have them, greatly enhancing safety compared to earlier models.
The Bad
- Window curtains: The curtains and curtain system are in disrepair and need replacement.
- Tires: The tires rub slightly at full lock. Personally, this was a fair trade for the extra inch of clearance.
- Rear door handle: Although it has been rigged to function with cord, a new part is recommended.
- No AC: While I’ve replaced the front console’s electronic parts, I haven’t had the time to troubleshoot the AC system, but it could be a minor fix.
Asking Price
I am asking $13,000 for this fantastic vehicle. Please reach out with any questions!

FOR SALE – 1998 Hiace Regius 4WD
Hello! I am selling my 4th generation Hi Ace Regius I imported last summer. Full time 4WD and brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain tires make this thing a perfect camping car. I love my little van but don’t use it in the city so I’ve decided to sell it on.
I could talk at length about this wonderful car but honestly if you’re looking at Hiaces, you probably already know. Reach out with any questions 🙂
THE GOOD:
– Toyota 22RE 2.4l engine (same as 1st gen Tacomas). Known to last 300,000+ miles. Gets great gas mileage ~20mpg!
– Full time 4wd, narrow, and compact – this thing eats forest service roads.
– Mechanically perfect condition, work done at CTL motors in Tacoma when I imported it.
– Brand new tan paint job done in Japan
– Minimal surface rust, was an Japanese auction grade 4 when purchased.
– New radiator
– New turn signals
– Double 180 degree rotating captains chairs up front.
– Interior stripped and ready to turn into a camper or haul furniture around.
– Clean title registered in Colorado! I went through all the trouble so you don’t have to. One of the only Hiaces on the market you can pick up and legally drive today.
– Significantly smaller than most vans.
– Comes with import documents.
– Airbags! As far as I know, one of the first Hiaces to have airbags making it significantly safer than 3rd gen ones.
THE BAD:
– Window curtains and curtain system are in disrepair.
– Tires rub slightly at full lock. Personally I think it’s worth the extra inch of clearance but worth noting.
– No rear door handle. I’ve rigged it up with some cord so it still functions but it’s worth getting a new part.
– NO AC! I’ve replaced all of the front console electronic parts but no luck. Could be a small fix, just never had the time to look at the diagram wiring and figure it out.
Please reach out with any questions! Asking $13k 🙂
