1978 F250 Custom: A Project Worth Investing In

Introduction

If you’re looking for a vintage truck with character and the potential for customization, the 1978 Ford F250 Custom is a great choice. Currently located in Hope, BC, this classic pickup is not just a vehicle; it’s a canvas waiting for the right owner to turn it into something truly special. With its powerful 300 I6 engine and C6 automatic transmission, this truck has the potential to be a reliable project or a daily driver.

Current Condition

As of now, the truck runs strong and shifts well, having been operational as recently as September 1st. However, it currently has a fuel-related issue, likely due to a clogged fuel filter or another simple fix, as it was running well before the problem arose. Despite this minor setback, the foundations for a solid project are there, making it a worthwhile investment for enthusiasts or hobbyists.

Rust Concerns

While the truck has good bones, it does come with its share of challenges. The F250 exhibits significant rust, particularly in the box and floor areas. Buyers will need to consider the potential for installing a new box or flat deck, and addressing the floor issue caused by rust. This truck is ideal for someone who enjoys working on vehicles and can see the potential through the imperfections.

Important Details

This 1978 F250 Custom is priced at $2500. For potential buyers, it’s important to note that this truck will need to be trailered. However, with the right attention and care, it can be returned to running strong in no time.

1978 F250 Custom. Has the 300 I6 with the C6 automatic. I had it running around September 1st. Runs strong, shifts good. It doesn’t want to stay running currently, most likely a fuel issue. Possibly clogged up fuel filter or something simple, as it was staying running just fine the day prior to me discovering that issue. More new parts than I’d like to list, both installed and uninstalled that will come with the truck. Will need to be trailered, but shouldn’t take much to get it running strong. It is very rusty, it needs a new box or a flat deck, and a new floor as a result of the rust. But has good bones for a project or a daily driver.
