Selling a 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5

Are you looking for a dependable SUV that has stood the test of time? Look no further than this 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5! With all-wheel drive, an automatic transmission, and a powerful 6-cylinder engine, this vehicle is not just a mode of transport but a lifestyle choice. Priced with its maintenance history in mind, this car has plenty of life left to offer.

Vehicle Overview

The 4Runner has been a reliable companion for many drivers, and this particular model is no exception. With approximately 255,000 miles on the odometer and a clean title, it has seen its fair share of adventures but remains ready for many more.

Ownership and Maintenance

I have owned the car for 4 years, with only one previous owner before me. In 2019, I ensured that two of the common issues for these vehicles were addressed head-on—the engine head gaskets and catalytic converter were both replaced. Since then, the new head gaskets have only seen about 40,000 miles of use. Maintaining regular care, this vehicle has passed smog tests every year that I have owned it.

Condition Details

In terms of cosmetic condition, the vehicle is classified as fair. While it features exterior dents and scratches (captured in the accompanying photographs), it’s essential to note the durability that comes with the 4Runner’s design. The seat cushions are torn, a result of wear from previous owners. However, seat covers are available and can be included in the sale.

A note for the next owner: the trunk latch is broken, but this is a minor and affordable fix that can be quickly addressed. While the car might need some work to ensure it operates at peak dependability, the long-term investment is well worth it. After all, the 4Runner is known for longevity when properly maintained.

Features & Key Work Done

Despite its mileage, this SUV still boasts valuable features: the air conditioning works effectively, and an aftermarket stereo is integrated for your driving enjoyment.

Selling 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5. AWD, Automatic Transmission, 6 Cylinders, Clean Title. ~255k miles

I’ve owned the car for 4 years, one owner before that. I had the engine head gaskets and catalytic converter replaced in 2019, which is the common major issue with these 4runners. These new heads gaskets only have 40k miles on them. Has passed smog every year I’ve owned it. Kept up with oil change schedule and replaced tires twice.

It’s in fair condition. It has exterior dents and scratches (shown in pictures), as well as torn seat cushions that occurred with previous owners (has seat covers that can come with the car). The trunk latch is broken but is a cheap fix for the next owner. The car could use work done to increase dependability, but if you invest it should last a long while. I’m pricing the car with the work in mind. Air conditioning works well, aftermarket stereo.

Key work done in past 4 years:
– Engine Head Gaskets Replaced – 2019
– Catalytic Converter – 2019
– Spark Plugs – 2019
– Rear Wheel Cylinders replaced – 2019
– Replaced front and rear gaskets – 2022
– Tailpipe, and Muffler replaced – 2022

Have full list of service records from both me and previous owner.

It has been a great car for me and will be for the next owner.
