2004 Lexus IS300 – A Reliable Choice
The 2004 Lexus IS300 is not just any car; it’s a blend of reliability, performance, and luxury that has stood the test of time. Being originally from Canada, this car features a pristine Washington State title, making it a great option for anyone looking for a stylish sedan.
Understanding the Dash and Measurements
One point of note to consider is that the dashboard displays measurements in kilometers, liters, and Celsius instead of miles, gallons, and Fahrenheit. However, it does still have miles per hour indicated, so you won’t lose your way when it comes to speed. The vehicle has 177,663 miles on it and is still being driven regularly, accumulating more miles marginally as time goes on.
Recent Maintenance and Upgrades
Owning this vehicle has come with a consistent dedication to maintenance. Recent upgrades and services include:
- Tires have been replaced
- Throttle body position sensor
- New radiator and coolant
- Regular oil changes (most recent at 175,547 miles)
- Fuel system cleaned on 1/21/2025
- Brake fluid flush and ABS exchange
- Head gaskets, plugs, wires, and coil packs replaced in October 2023
- Rear tie rods and shorter/stronger rear antenna
- New battery installed on 5/30/2025
The timing belt, alongside the water pump and other belts, was done at 100,836 miles. As per Firestone’s recent inspection, they are still in good condition with an estimated additional life of 15-30k miles left, contingent upon owner preference.
Features of the Lexus IS300
This Lexus IS300 radiates luxury with its full leather interior, which sets it apart from others in the market. Not only do the seats offer comfort, but they are also heated, ensuring a cozy experience for you and your passengers. This car includes:
- Tinted windows for privacy and style
- A sunroof that adds an extra touch of luxury
- Keyless entry for convenience
- Auto headlights for ease of use
- Thick rubber floor mats that protect from wear and tear
Valuing Your Investment
When considering the current market, it’s essential to note that other IS300 models with less maintenance and features are listed from around $6,500 to $15,000. This vehicle stands out not only due to its clean title but also its impressive maintenance history, making the starting price of $14,500 reasonable when compared to others.
Cons and Future Considerations
No vehicle is without its flaws; this one does have some curb rash on the wheels and a small dent on the passenger front fender. Additionally, Firestone pointed out leaking from the front two struts, although it’s minimal and doesn’t lead to any visible drops. If you do wish to fix these, there are affordable options available for wheel repairs, and personal preferences can dictate if you want to replace the struts.
Listening Quality
A note worth mentioning for the audiophiles out there: the 6-disc CD player does not function, a common issue with this model. However, an FM Bluetooth setup has been used seamlessly, allowing music and GPS to stream effortlessly from a smartphone. This setup provides more versatility compared to traditional CD players.

SCOTTSDALE
**CAR IS ORIGINALLY FROM CANADA – Has a CLEAN Washington State title in my name though.** Saying this first so when you see the picture of the dash you don’t freak out because it is in Kilometers, Liters, Celsius and not Miles, Gallons, Fahrenheit. (It does have MPH on speedo still.) Mileage on car is 177,663 (slowly going up as I still drive it about twice a week.) Since October of 2023 the following has all been done: Tires, Throttle body position sensor, new radiator and coolant, air filter, cabin air filter, regular oil changes (the most recent one was 2,000 miles ago at 175,547 miles), fuel system cleaning done on 1/21/2025, brake fluid flush and exchange with ABS (November 2024 – was told that the pads and rotors still had life in them, so maybe in a year they’ll need replaced, depending on how much/hard you are going to drive it), head gaskets, plugs, wires, coil packs (October of 2023), rear tie rods, shorter/stronger rear antenna, battery (5/30/2025). The timing belt, other belts, and water pump were all done at 100,836miles (belts and water pump recently visually inspected by Firestone and they said they’re all still good, no cracks or leaks. Probably another 15-30k life left, but this could be a personal choice to replace sooner or not.). The car has tinted windows, a sunroof, keyless entry, on/off auto headlights and has FULL leather interior (I’ve seen some with leather seats but the doors aren’t, mine is full leather interior WITH heated seats, which I also haven’t seen on any others that have been posted for sale.) The nice thick rubber Lexus floor mats will also stay with the car. Please no lowball offers, they will be ignored. I own this car out right with clean title in hand and do not need to sell it. I have had it since 2014 and I am now interested in possibly getting a newer IS model and do not need nor have the room for two cars right now. This car has been super reliable, clean and fun to drive for 11 years, so I figured a new IS would be the next best thing. I’ve seen other IS300’s with branded titles, faded paint, worn out interiors, etc going for $6500-$7500 and I’ve seen older models with more miles, warn out interiors/no leather interior, no heated seats, and not as extensive of a maintenance list, listed for as high as $15,000. I’m only the third owner of this car and as you can tell from the maintenance list and pictures, I’ve taken amazing care of this car since owning it in 2014. That all being said, that is why I am starting at $14.5k as I figured that’s a good starting place given what other IS300’s are on the market. Only CONS are some curb rash on the wheels (If you aren’t wanting to get your own setup installed and keep these, then I can provide a business card for someone who does amazing wheel repair for a good price. My roommate’s TRX was done by this person and the wheels looked brand new.), Small thumb sized dent from a rock on the highway on passenger front fender (please see picture) and on 5/31/2025 firestone informed me that the front two struts were leaking, but not enough to where it was leaving any sort of visible drops on the ground when stationary. (This is an easy fix though – If I don’t sell car, I am personally going to install coilover’s all around, this will not only take care of this but also allow me to lower the car to have it look a little better as well, so a win/win. This is also cheaper than having a shop install a factory setup. The car still drive’s perfect as is, no play or vibration in the steering wheel and it doesn’t pull to either side. So no rush in trying to fix this.) As of 5/30/2025 I had the following done in order to prepare for posting for sale: Tire balance, rotation, alignment, new battery and full inspection of tires, breaks, suspension, fluids, light bulbs, etc. Only issue was with the front struts leaking a bit, which was already explained above. The only other thing I would like to mention is that the 6 disc CD player doesn’t work (common with these) and hasn’t worked for years. I’ve never cared to replace it though because ever since I bought the car I have used a Bluetooth FM setup and I play music and GPS through my phone and it has always sounded great so never felt the need to spend the money to replace. I will keep it in the car for whoever buys it so they can use it until they decide what aftermarket head unit they’d like to install for themselves (if they choose to go that route) Anyway, sorry this was so long, I just wanted to make sure I covered what I could remember. AGAIN – Please do not waste my time with low ball offers, I don’t have to sell and I am only posting to see what interest there is, but will let her go for the right offer. If not, I will be completely content if I end up owning this car forever and running it until it can’t run any longer lol. Thanks for reading!
